Context
We were commissioned by a consulting agency to design a marketplace banking mobile app. Like other emerging models in the financial space (like BaaS and Open Banking), a marketplace banking is an opportunity for institutions to attract costumers and diversified revenue in the financial ecosystem.
What to do
To create a MVP of a marketplace banking app where users can use points rewards to pay or get discounts to buy products. One of the obvious problems to solve was design a complex mobile app without it getting overwelming to the user.
The process
In the discovery phase, we not only conducted interviews with stakeholders but also analyzed the data the client had previously gathered from potential users.
Shopping
The buying route is where the experience designed could highly affect the product success, even when delivering a MVP.
Along with the user flow, our focus was in making its UI simple and organized visualy. Even though most of users being familiar with buying at amazon and ebay (lowering the learning curve) the ‘reward calculator tool’ was something the majority weren’t familiar with, so creating a environment where the user wouldn’t feel overwhelmed by novelty was fundamental.
